Mr. Levin, you forgot to say "FREEDOM!" and "LIBERTY!" a half dozen times. An oversight, I am sure.

Y'know, corporations should start getting lobbyists so that they can match up with the double-barreled, influence-peddling juggernaut that is ACORN and SCIU.

And there is the rub folks! In Hannity's world a corporate takeover of America is either inconceivable or a good thing. The fact that our government has been bought and sold by corporate interests with the enabling rhetoric of conservatives like Hannity cheering them on speaks volumes. Of course a corrupt and disabled government needs reform but it is extremely convienent to ignore those constitutencies that corrupted it. If the government has been an enabler, so has libertarian conservativism.

Imagine a world in which Hannity and Levin get their way. Government becomes a mere rubber stamp to corporate control. Democracy will only exist on corporate boards and shareholder meetings. Of course Hannity assumes he will be in that group. Where will the 5th column be then?

The fifth column has already left my district (NY-23). They were the teabaggers who came from outside the state to disrupt our local proces, the political money Hofman received (95% raised from outside NY state), Fred Thompson, Sarah Palin, and pundits too numerous to name.

Yes it was the most important race ever, until it dropped down the memory hole this morning on Fox.

Hopefully, the metal detectors at the Capitol will be in good working order when Bachmann's crew shows up.

Why does it always come down to good Americans and bad Americans with these guys? Do they really like democracy? No! They like flag waving slogans and feel good rightousness. Real democracy is messy and yes, it is street protests at inconveinent times which means it is also anti-war protestors, labor unions, and civil rights marchers. Tea baggers are nothing special, just another collection of angry citizens (except for their big media pundit support).

More and more I get the feeling that conservatives want a nation of conformists who follow a conservative political correctness. They want an uncomplicated national dialog of good guys and bad guys. They want a pure traditional culture. They want to believe that selfish greed has no negative consequences. They fetish an America that is (except for liberals) by definition inherently good. The fact that our country is so diverse politically disturbs them. Their fantasy that ideology can be reality at the same time shows how lazy and intellectually dishonest they really are. Ironically they seem to want to create what they accuse Obama of creating: A cultural and politically extreme conformity.

It's a reality that offers easy answers (like fundamentalist religion). There is an obvious, inherent right and wrong to every issue.

I always liked the line from John Stewart: "We know Republicans love America. They just hate half the people in it."

And they bask in their self-professed patriotism. But as Samuel Johnson put it, "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel".

With hannity and Levin, we're dealing with two loud-mouthed scoundrels. And as Levin would say at a time like this - "THAT'S RIGHT: I SAID IT!!!!" :-)

I keep saying this over and over again. Any protest promoted by these nuts is considered "patriotic" and "American" and all that garbage. But when people protest the war in Iraq, they're called "un-American" and "traitors". What gives these nutjobs the right to tell us what is American and un-American? If anyone had tried doing this during the past 8 years, they would have been called "terrorists" and trying to undermine the country.

During the Civil War, being disloyal to the government was punishable by a large fine, banishment from your community, long prison sentences, and if the disloyalty became treasonous, a person could be executed. It's too bad the Sedition Act of 1918 was repealed in 1920

Hannity forgets that Bush took over the banks. A typical Bush apologist and historical revisionist.

"I am sick and tired of our nation slipping away..."

      Uh, it's done slipped.

The policies of the last decade brought this about, numbskull! Did Wall St. tank this year, or last year?

And the Republicans (Bachmann is a Republican) had control of Congress for just a little while, I think.

Using ignorant, stupid people to push for defeat of HC reform. The party of "no" is the party of and for the "stupid".

Here's Bachmann's voting record. Feel free to review how she votes.
