And if he never went (like President Bush), he would be 'disrespecting' the men and women who gave their lives for our country.

Regardless, Obama went, to see, firsthand, the cost of the wars that we're currently fighting, and regardless of who you are, this was a good thing for Obama to do.

President Bush did go. He also went to Walter Reed a few times. The difference he didn't have the press follow him.

          OK, three things:

          1. Bush greeted families, but not at Dover AFB
          2. Bush went to Walter Reed -- when it was falling apart. Big Whoop.
          4. Obama didn't have the press follow him -- the FAMILIES have the option for or against press coverage -- one family decided in favor, even after they were informed the President would be there.

I was going to write the same thing, but you beat me to it. Was this during the "news" window on Fox, or the "op-ed" window? I'm never quite sure until the evening rolls around.

Also, and this has been asked thousands of times on this site and elsewhere, what does Limbaugh's opinion have to do with anything - other than the credence some, but far from all, Republicans give it? His resume suggests no expertise whatsoever in, well, anything. Perhaps they should be citing someone with actual, earned credibility.

No, F & F is not part of the "news" window. That window starts at 9:00 ET and ends at 4:00 ET, according to Fox's spokesperson.

So let's get this straight. They're not saying President Obama doesn't care deeply about our fallen soldiers, but this very well might have been a photo op and Rush said so, too.

The Fox War on Reality continues.

Some people have a problem with the president greeting our war dead on their return? And some people get signals from aliens through the fillings in their teeth.

      But most people don't.

The ban on photographing flag draped caskets has made it that much easier for presidents to wage war and for citizens to ignore them.

These wars are being waged in our name and it's important that we see the results.

Rush and these clowns need to stop using our war dead to advance their political agenda.

Hmm, Faux Frenimies is still making mileage off of this days after the fact. We aren't playing partisan politics and exploiting tragedy at all, now are we? The President was there for five hours in the middle of the night, he met with the families and prayed with the chaplins that blessed the caskets of our fallen service members. All 18 families were given the option to have the press cover this event, and 11 families made the no press decision before they even knew the President would be there, six more chose not to be filmed after they knew he would be there. It would not have been a photo op if the one remaining family had said "No." He intends to let this sobering experience influence his decision to send in more troops, as well he should. I don't think Fox yelled about photo ops when the President gassed up Air Force One and hopped over to Iraq just to share turkey dinner with some of the troops and he never went to Dover, not once in eight years.

did either of these boneheads along with that drug addict rush serve in the military to put their lives in harms way or any of their family members for that matter,,these chickenhawks are so quick to want to send out troops off to war,,,President Obama received permission to photo this soldier by his family and it is a stark reminder of the ills of war and a sobering sight indeed to see as he weighs whether or not it is woorth sending any more men or women in harms way to die how is this a political stunt on his part..these knuckleheads are just plain reidiculous and fox news/ opinion whateva they want to call themselves go out of their way to find fault with anything this president does

Of course, George W. Bush eschewed any "fanfare" when dealing with war...like when he flew onto that aircraft carrier dressed like a real fighter pilot in front of a banner that declared "Mission Accomplished".

You should also point out that Bush DID have several pictures taken of himself visiting the wounded at Walter Reed. Just one of MANY photos:

Feel free to criticize the President for his policies, you can even criticize the President for his actions, but don't criticize him for being Black, and yes, you just did by your statement. It was completely unnecessary, and it diminishes your credibility.

Well, I will grant you that point, but I was trying to be nice. I like to give people second (third, fourth) chances to express themselves more clearly. Some people don't realize what they've said until they're called on it. (My husband often shakes his head at me and wonders why I bother.)

But is it fair or appropriate criticism? Yes you can criticize any and everything(Limbo and Fox have been doing that for years)but can come off narrow minded, biased, petty, nitpicking or even racist if the criticism suggests that! Citizens are tired of fighting and criticizing just for political gain...that was the message to the very negative McCain campaign last year but it continues and has become especially nasty and vitriolic from the right.Coincidentally the object of the most negative attacks happens to be the President who just happens to be Black!!

It is fair to criticize the President for allocating too much for the stimulus program, or being too close to lobbyists. It is fair to criticize him for sending too few or too many troops to Afghanistan. It is fair to criticize his spending too little time in his office or too much time on the golf course, but it isn't fair to pick on him for his name, his religion, or the type of mustard he puts on his burgers! That is just plain stupid!

Kilmeade suggests Obama Dover photos were arranged to advance "the narrative" that "it's not time to put Americans in battle"

Kilmeade needs to prove President Obama set up the photo-op. How about acually saying the family aready approved the photo and the president never asked. How about saying he lifted the 18yr ban on allowing families to take photos of soldiers coming home for funeral.

FOX Snooze no facts never news.....

Paraphrasing: "Man, I think Obama politicized the war dead! And I think it's a terrible thing!"
"Yeah, Bush didn't go see them with a camera!"
"Right! Bush never did what Obama did. And that's why I--I mean 'some people' think Democrats want necrophiliac homosexuals teaching your schoolchildren!"
