Krauthammer continues the ways that have made him very rich. Logical, reasonable, humane, not so much.

No sir. He is "delaying" his troop decision to get more information, think through the details, and see what the possible outcomes might be. In other words, he's taking his time to ensure that whatever decision he does make, is the right one (hopefully), and that he has the information to back up his decision. It's not like just deciding to invade Iraq because, you know, he wanted to.

Here's what should happen. You get a memo from your commander in Afghanistan, he says that he needs about 40,000 more troops (on top of the additional soldiers he's already sent into theatre). Obama gets together with his Joint Chiefs, they go over the recommendation. They war game it out, go through all possible situations that they can come up with, get detailed force depletion estimates, time it will take, money to be expended, and so on. Believe it or not Krauthammer, these things take a little bit of time, and it has nothing to do with political races around the country.

Anyway, I thought he delayed his troop decision so that he could win the Nobel Peace Prize? That's what you guys were saying a couple of weeks ago anyway.
