That's why most hospitals are restricting visitors right now. It's not because they are afraid that visitors will get the disease - it's because they KNOW that people who have the flu but don't know it (either they have mild symptoms or they haven't come down with the symptoms yet) will infect other people in the hospital!!! That's why some states and hospitals are considering making vaccination mandatory - not to make sure that the nurses are healthy, so they can work, but so that those nurses don't infect a bunch of patients and visitors. The Flu is mostly spread thru the air, not through touching contaminated surfaces. Even breathing spreads the virus - you don't have to sneeze or cough to spread the bug.
The biggest reason to vaccinate a lot of people is to stem the epidemic as much as possible. As a byproduct, those people who are vaccinated won't infect someone else, but a bigger public health good is the fact that they won't infect anyone else if they got the vaccine.
This is the same guy who said if he had a choice between Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, he'd pick Rush Limpballs?!?
What a total whackjob!
By the way, did anyone else notice how quickly Sean cut him off, as if he suddenly realized his token had just stepped in it big time. Too bad he didn't do it before his so-called "Great American Panel" laughed at this blatantly racist comment, thus showing their approval of racism. Is there any wonder why these people keep getting labeled?
What an A-hole.
As for doctors not knowing what people have, doctors are not human microscopes with blood analyzers attached to their hips. Doctors can make a darn good guess based on people's symptoms, but there is never any guarantee without the test. Using this as an argument to avoid the vaccine is just stupid. He is encouraging parents to help kill their kids simply because the "government doesn't know what it is." I've talked to plenty of doctors and pharmacists that all encourage the vaccine, especially for young children because the risk of death without it is much higher. (This isn't a certified medical opinion, so please do not rely on this to make your decision regarding the vaccine.)
Let's see...
I guess he also thinks AIDS is a "gay disease", and bird flu is a Chinese plot to take over the world.
I swear, Fox get's their "contributors" by randomly picking up some bum off the street, give them a shave, put a suit on them, then tell them to just speak random words.
Who cares? The Fox-huggers will believe anything they say!
