God, I love Michelle Bachmann...! She is the best thing to happen for the Democratic Party in a long time.
And her answer, obviously, was not yes or no. Therefore, it's a non-answer.
Are YOU blind, because that's about the only way you've missed it.
President Obama's birth certificate has been confirmed, OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER AND OVER!!!
Any additional "clearing up" you need should be done in a phsyiciatric ward cause you're certifiably crazy!
Maybe you should try comparing her facial expressions to those of frozen face Pelosi some day. She ought to let a few tucks out.
And once again , I love the thumbs up for a comment that is just totally wrong. Even when they can see his comments are dead wrong they still cheer them. You libs are hilarious.
I have no idea what Bachmann's personal beliefs are about President Obama's citizenship, and I honestly don't care. But what bothers me is that, unlike Fleischer, she seemed desperate to try to alienate as few of her supporters and constituents as possible rather than just state in positive terms that one side of the argument is wrong. On the one hand she doesn't want to go on record claiming that she doubts Obama's citizenship; on the other hand, she doesn't want to go on record claiming that there's anything wrong with doubting Obama's citizenship. So she avoids both at the same time with this nightmare of a sentence: "I have no reason to doubt that he wasn't."
But hey, if you say her answer was clear to you, then I don't discount the unlikelihood that you didn't misunderstand the implications of her answer's lack of clarity.
Oh, and fairliberal, you really do need to do more research on the terms "liberal" and "conservative." Just because you watch Fox 24/7 and bow to the shrine of Bill O'Reilly doesn't mean you're a conservative nor does it mean that people who disagree with your twisted viewpoint of conservatism are liberals.
Keep hope alive!
The men in white coats are coming to help you with you're insanity.
In the words of Christian Bale: "What don't you f***ing understand!? What don't you get about it?!"
Perhaps a simple "No" would have been too "pretty clear".
I haven't seen any debate where the participants say "yes/no and here is why," it is far more popular to explain first, then wrap up with a short yes/no after/
You know what, this is stupid. If you can't see the "no" in "no reason to doubt he wasn't" I don't even see why I bother replying.
WHAT? That is a clear answer to you? I would love to hear your conversations in everyday life. Are you having a good day today? I have no reason to doubt that I am not having a good day today. Would you like some help with that? I have no reason to doubt that I would not want some help with this. Unbelievable that you would actually defend this nonsense.
Normally I hate to pile on, but I have to ask this:
When a politician says, "I have no plans to run for..." do you really expect that you won't be hearing a declaration of candidacy a month or two later?
Gotta ask you so called "patroticKate, where have YOU been hiding for the last 8 years......
When Bush left office after 2008, the MEDIAN INCOME had FALLEN to $50,303, A DECLINE of 4.2%.
When Bush left office after 2008, the number of POOR AMERICANS JUMPED to 39.8 MILLION. The LARGEST number in absolute terms since 1960.
When Bush left office, the number of people in POVERTY INCREASED by OVER 26.1%. And OVER 2/3 of that INCREASE occurred BEFORE the economic COLLAPSE of 2008.
When Bush left office, the number of CHILDREN LVING in POVERTY had INCREASED MORE than 21%.
When Bush left office in 2008, the NUMBER of AMERICANS who RECEIVED HEALTH INSURANCE from their EMPLOYER DECLINED EVERY YEAR of HIS presidency, from 64.2$ in the year 2000, t0 58.5% in 2008.
Where in the HELL were YOU, so called patrioticKate?
YOU found NOTHING wrong when the Republican CONTROLLED government ran this country into the ground, forgive me if I think the pathetic whinning you're doing NOW is BULLSH**!
She is saying she has NO reason to doubt that he WASN'T born in the United States!
She is saying she HAS REASON TO DOUBT THAT HE WAS! Even as she SAYS he's SHOWN his birth certificate she's leaving DOUBT about the legitimacy of it for her weirded out followers to grab onto REGARDLESS what she REALLY believes herself. Personally I believe she's nuts AND dangerous AND has NO BUSINESS IN CONGRESS or any other JOB with authority over OTHERS.
We NEED to have a country wide referendum on the very NEXT ballot demanding psychological TESTING for any person running for any office because I don't think we can survive much longer as a country with religious fanatics, gun fanatics, war and hate mongers, racist ranters, alcoholics and out right CRAZY people in government jobs.
Smarter than a dining room table, at least.
I'm open to evidence to the contrary, but I've never found formal linguistic pedantry (or do I mean pedantism?) to be more or less popular among people of any particular political position. I think you'll find that there are just as many spelling and grammar police officers on the right as there are on the left. For instance, many conservative talk show hosts advance the position that Americans should be vigilant against corruption of English. (I'm thinking here specifically of Savage, Limbaugh and Liddy.) But there are certainly plenty of people on the left who criticize grammatical errors by those on the right with glee.
With that said, I hope you're not trying to draw some sort of comparison between blk-in-alabam's comment and Bachmann's. There's a world of difference between criticizing someone for splitting an infinitive or misspelling a word, and criticizing an elected representative for using an unusual grammatical construction in such a way as to avoid declaring that the birthers' position is without merit.
Beck blames it on the oligarhy.
Is that what Beck did when he quit college after about two months? Recently he's found himself without 89 former sponsors.
Given Shellie's facial expression in the above screenshot, I'd say the question wasn't as simple as King thought . . .
Larry King asked. Bachman says "I have no reason to doubt," and "the left started it." Is this woman in touch with reality?
She couldn't answer "No I do not believe the birthers." Maybe what she is trying to do is to show the lunatics that she is still with them in a roundabout way by not coming out with a direct answer. Why did it take so long to come up with any answer?
Can you imagine how completely insane the right would be going right now if the 2008 election was as close as the 2000 election, and Obama won?
I still hope that a Hannity or a Beck or a Quinn really show their displeasure over the election of their President by throwing gasoline over themselves on live TV and lighting a match. That should ingnite their troops.
And Michelle Bachman saying that the only people who bring this up are people on the left is hilarious. I guess we all imagined all the signs at the various Tea Party events and 9/12 rally in Washington questioning his birthplace. I guess that Orly Taitz is a lefty in disguise, as are the others that have filed suit.
How out of touch can one be with reality and still manage to put one foot in front of the other to walk?
