I hope it happens.
Mr. Williams, what is wrong with following the law?
Stevie, heroes, breaking the law is breaking the law.
In a letter to California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger last month and made public Thursday, Chief Deputy Attorney General James M. Humes said the office "opened an investigation of both ACORN and the circumstances under which ACORN employees were videotaped," The Sacramento Bee reported Friday.
The controversy centers on a series of surreptitiously taped videos in which a couple posed as a pimp and a prostitute were advised on how to set up their business by people identified as workers with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
Under California law, it is illegal to videotape people without their permission, except in some cases for security purposes, the Bee wrote.
"ACORN welcomes the investigation of Attorney General Brown into the illegal videotaping of ACORN workers," ACORN spokesman David Lagstein said. "The investigation will show that the only crime committed was by" the videographers.
Schwarzenegger, who asked Brown to investigate the matter two weeks ago, praised the decision Thursday.
"I am outraged and deeply concerned by these allegations," Schwarzenegger said in a statement. "If these reports are true, they warrant prosecution under the fullest extent of the law."

But after watching another bleeding heart judge , Missouri I think it was, sentence a child molester to probation, after molesting a 6 year old, what could they possibly give O'Keefe. A medal might be in order.
But that's not the point... Either laws were broken or they were not. If ACORN broke the law then prosecute them. If O'Keefe and Giles broke the law then prosecute them. Or are you arguing some sort of nullification...that the criminal act was justified. If so, what are you going to say when right wing extremists argue that the first guy who takes a shot at President Barack Obama was justified?
So, because terrorists are terrorists, it's okay to torture them? So, when a criminal breaks the law, we don't need to give them any rights ever again? They stop being human somehow?
Oh, really?
Cheney -- outed a covert CIA agent
Palin -- numerous ethics violations in Alaska
Limpballs -- busted for doctor-shopping
Perhaps you look up the definition of the word and then comment again.
And BTW, are there any convictions on your list? Maybe just liberal allegations, or smoke. Lawsuits against Cheney have been dismissed, allegations against Palin have all been politically motivated and have gone nowhere. And Limbaugh, doctor shopping?, get a grip.
And you might be surprised to learn that, so far, nothing on any of those videos shows any criminal activity. The ethics of those involved may be shaky, but there is nothing that breaks any existing statutes (and nothing that doesn't occur in accounting and legal firms every day).
Limbaugh is a drug addict (once an addict, always an addict) and a suspected pedophile who was caught purchasing narcotics on the street and smuggling a controlled substance. Ever wonder where he really goes on all of his days off? I mean, have we ever actually seen a photo of him on the golf course? And do you think he actually attends church on Sundays? He isn't even awake that early on a Sunday morning - and not a single person has ever been found who attends church or golfs with Limbaugh. Pretty suspect behavior from a known addict and proven liar.
If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is most likely a duck.
Your heroes are all scumbags. Bummer for you.
Lies & innuendos that all you lefties claim to be way above.
The only thing you got correct was the addiction part.
Aren't you all about forgiveness?
You really need to stay off the Democratic Underground site.

Enterprise |ˈentərˌprīz|
noun
1 A project or undertaking, typically one that is difficult or requires effort.
• Initiative and resourcefulness
2 a business or company : a state-owned enterprise.
• entrepreneurial economic activity.
I wonder what the sentences were for the convicts.
Well, hell -- you may want to ask Scooter Libby if he thought it was "just smoke."
The allegation against the Tundra Princess was that she abused her office came from the AK State Legislature -- which is majority REPUBLICAN.
And yes, Limpballs WAS doctor-shopping -- or, are you telling me he surrendered to the Palm Beach, FL jail on April 28, 2006 for NO reason??
Good gracious, FAILlib -- do some research before you spout off; you'll look like less of an idiot . . .
Maybe you might want to, even though it is from Wikipedia.
The charges against Limbaugh were dropped. (According to that article) Never convicted.
Talk about looking like an idiot.
Now you're just spouting bits and pieces of right wing nuttery that don't even relate to the posting.
Tell your nurse you need new medications.
WHAT does the case involving a Missouri Judge have to do with the California Atty Gen. deciding to prosecute O'Keefe?
However, one of Fauxliberal's bosses... Bill O'Lielly... is probably gearing up for another jihad against 'liberal' judges, and she's just greasing the tracks.
Some here have supported judges for actions like the one I referenced, on the basis that they are working to change laws they do not agree with. But that is not what a judge is supposed to be doing, they are not lawmakers.
After the state changed their policy on who got help and who didn't, the judge imposed a longer sentence.
I'm sure Billo didn't mention any of this.
You know you're like a small dog that just won't let go of an ankle.
More like a rabid dog with a bone -- that's how wingnuts are when they latch onto a talking point . . .
If one or both broke the law, investigate and prosecute.
Aren't you Cons fans of the LAW. How hard is it for you to understand that the law is the law.
Really?
If the term "criminal enterprise" means anything, it must mean more than simply a legal enterprise in which employees break the law: it must be an enterprise that sets out to break laws purposefully. The Yakuza? Yup, a criminal enterprise. A company whose sole existence is to help another company break tax law? That would be a criminal enterprise.
But ACORN's purpose is to help poor people have safer neighborhoods, get affordable housing and healthcare, and register to vote. Despite the apparent hopes and wishes of FNC and of many other institutions and people, the fact is that it's not a crime to advocate for poor people and help the poor to organize.
Now, compare that to two people who actually set out to record people without their permission in violation of state laws. That, you see, would be a criminal enterprise.
Also, I'd expect the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy to be right behind him.
Get real. The only reason these "news" outlets put so much effort on the small fry like ACORN, is to deflect your attention (yes, I mean YOU) away from the real issue - ALL politicians are wasting your tax $$ - conservative as well as liberal, and you ignorantly fall for it. Fox is playing you, and you blithely let them do it.
Wake up.
Instead of attacking the judge maybe you need to let the Republican legislators who control the State Government know what you think of there laws.
And FOX. They're accessories.
Did anybody else catch that? Tax payer dollars?
Its funny how faux puts on some guy who is a 'former CA Prosecutor' for all we know he got kicked out of office, lost because he was terrible and incompetent,or moved into the 'private sector' and now is making a bundle from his connections while a 'former CA Prosecutor'
I personally think it is a window in to his disgust for anyone poor, minorities, or any organization that would attempt to help them.
If the individual who filmed this is found guilty of breaking the law and he was doing it under the FOX guise, should he be tried as a singular individual, or should his company be libel as well?
These should be debated and a legal standard upheld, rather than the helter-skelter arguments flying around the Internet. Unfortunately, the Fox network has become embroiled as they promoted the video to discredit an agency, rather than to follow a legal approach, like send the video to an AG before making it a media event. This is yet another example of Attack in Public and apologize in private. And if the videographer is found guilty, then if there is a legal way to attack FOX, then that should be persued.
The video journalist, Giles and O'Keefe, have no defense, based on the, 'clean hands doctrine.' ACORN, a public forum, is responsible for its employees. A conundrum.
AG Brown has to decide whether the journalist were investigating allegations, or if it is a case of malicious entrapment. The latter appears to be the case, being that Ms. Giles was, 'in the wrong side of town,'(paraphrase), and wondered what she could do to malign ACORN. The journalist may beat the rap, but will not beat the ride. Obviously, they are hero's to the white side of culture. e.g. Ollie North, G. Gordon Libby, Martha Stewart, etc.
Please, look at this objectively. Most will not, being they are too backwards to view issues with any neutral perspective.
It has been the same in all cultures, America is not immune.
It be it,
Ronin Kannushi.
THE BLACK Helicopters are comin for ya Okeefe! You hear them....here they come!
To define the ACORN office as a public forum because the organization takes in tax $$ is stretching things a bit. Which of course Fox does anyway.
ACORN, CA and MD should sue. Let this be settled in court. I hope O'Keefe and Giles are finally exposed for the liars they are. Let's see the ENTIRE SET OF VIDEO TAPES, not just the edited portions that support one side.
