The Bush administration set us up for failure in Afghanistan by deflecting resources to Iraq.

Their lack of attention to details in Afghanistan has led to massive corruption by the politicians in that country. (Perhaps Beck should hold some tea party rallies there?)

So now we're faced with either:

Ignoring Afghanistan altogether & just going after al-Qaeda (the enemy)

      or

Doing what Gen. McCrystal wants & send in more troops to prop up a corrupt regime (or at least give that perception to the Afghan people). It ain't the same as Iraq.

Either way, it's not an easy answer. Thank you Bush, for getting us to this point.

So to me, I understand why the Obama admin wants to review all options.

With 58 percent of Americans opposing this war (CNN poll 9/11/13) in Afghanistan, and many saying there isn't a military solution there, how many here think there's a way to "win"?

Even Ghenghis Khan couldn't occupy Afghanistan for long.

        And isn't al-Qaeda in Pakistan?

I don't know so much about all of this, so I ask. If I had my way, we'd be out of there immediately. But there are thoughtful people (that wouldn't include neocons and hawks) that think we need to stay for any number of reasons.

      Obama -- what an idiot!

With the wars still going on in Iraq and Afghanistan, where does he think we're going to find enough troops to fight a war against the Pentagon?

Very true. Beck, Palin, and others of the braying morons are angling to get some hothead to take a shot at the president. Then there's this not-so-subtle lobbying for a coup. How much collateral carnage will they bring about on their road to more and greater failure?

Nothing very covert going on there.

        Exactly.

And, even if it HAD been directly Obama's decision, it wouldn't have mattered: the President holding the CIA accountable DOES NOT constitute "being at war" with them -- of course, I realize accountability is a foreign concept to the 'lil Fox Jungen . . .

We know Brian Kilmeade had a lobotomy, but can he afford to openly advocate for the assasination of the American President?

One more crazy "smear" from FoxNews Channel's Host, Brian Kilmeade was just so he could get his bonus check this month that's all, LOL.

Many Americans (along with people around the world) know that these crazy "smears" against Pres. Obama and Democrats have a cozy home at FoxNews Channel. If it's an outrageous "smear" directed at Pres. Obama and Democrats then just bring it to FoxNews Channel so they can broadcast it over, and over, and over 24/7. LOL

      Another day, another chapter...

No one should be surprised at Kilmeade's latest absurdities.

After all, he's just padding his audition DVD in hopes of taking over the six o'clock slot after Beck does an on-air lobotomy-by-Glock.

We know FOX Propaganda is 'at war with' truth. Can they really afford to be 'at war with' common sense as well?

      Well, let's see.

First of all, Obama and SECDEF Gates seem to have a pretty good relationship, agreeing on funding issues, and the direction to take in Iraq and Afghanistan. Also, the Joint Chiefs seem to have a pretty good relationship with Obama as well.

Second. GEN McChrystal has NOT requested additional troops...yet. He probably will (the 40,000 or so in his report) based on the report he wrote and sent in a couple of weeks ago on the readiness level, and what is required to move forward in Afghanistan. By all indications, thus far in Obama's Presidency, he does seem to listen to his Generals, unlike President Bush (who said he would but didn't).
