Carlson concerned about "ramifications" on "small businesses" if kids had longer school days

Anything at all.
These people and their listeners are sofa king stupid.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
No principles at all. Not one.
I see your point on longer days (half hour to hour more) but we shouldn't turn our schools into day care centers which is what it would inevitably lead to.
Here is a thought. Why dont we do it like we used to and get the most out of our five day, six hour, nine month regimen?
Any comments from the teachers union?
Second, it's not how long you spend in class, but rather the quality of instruction you receive. Smaller class sizes would be a big step in this direction.
Lastly, most school aged children are not eligible for full time work due to child labor laws. Of course, FOX is no doubt in favor of rescinding those laws, since you can pay kids a lot less than even illegal immigrants for the same basic job. Gotta protect the bottom line, right? And it's not like we'll be taking advantage of kids who matter: wealth, white, and privileged.

And here's a part of the article that he left out:
"Charter schools are known for having longer school days or weeks or years. For example, kids in the KIPP network of 82 charter schools across the country go to school from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., more than three hours longer than the typical day. They go to school every other Saturday and for three weeks in the summer. KIPP eighth-grade classes exceed their school district averages on state tests."
Gee, now why would Fox and Fiends not bother with THAT part of the article? Could it be because they have an agenda to Bash Obama EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY OPEN THEIR WORTHLESS GOP-SUCKING MOUTHS?
And by the way, Doocy - the numbers you quoted were only from Asian countries, you stoopid pile of reconsituted dog vomit.
(I hope I'm not seeming to lose control here. Does it seem like I've lost control? I want to give the impression of being reasonable and not overly emotional when referring to this panel of vapid rat-droppings)
I'm not sure about small businesses suffering, but certainly those that count on high school kids for summer employment might feel the pinch.
The A/C is very much an issue here in Texas. Add to that the extra carbon dioxide that would be put into the atmosphere, as well.
But it could be mitigated by putting the little rodents into summer work camps as God intended. ;-) Have them paint the roof of the school white, and afterwards start painting the roads white to deflect the sun and help reverse climate change.
Ah, J/K That work should go to illegal immigrants! J/K again....;-)
But it could be mitigated by putting the little rodents into summer work camps as God intended. ;-)
Mmmmmm....sounds like a great moonbat plan. But I doubt God is with ya on this one ;-)
P.S. You forgot "pinkio". Ha!
I'm typing this without my glasses!!! Gotta go find them!!
Aw darlin, is that when you're calling out "God Jeter!!..Oh God Jeter!! You are a God Jeter!!" :-)
Or was that you speaking to me in tongue?...;-)
That's just my tongue hon...just where you...I'm not gonna finish this thought, there might be children reading this ;-)
That's just the PG version!
Don't want Jete to get a case of the sticky keyboard...
;-)
Me & Miz Julia have been told to "get a room" on numerous occasions during the past 2yrs :-)
And yeah a sticky keyboard would not be too cool. Ha!
I know darlin :-)One of these days we'll have to give the folks here the XXX version ;-)
Tomorrow is Miz Julia's Birthday...so let's throw her a cyber bash!!! :-)
Snoop, I'm counting on you to find the perfect thread!!!
And Pearlene if you're reading this, I won't forget your box of wine ;-)
Sweet dreams Miz Julia :-)
No kidding.
And of course didn't carp & moan over the war & the unplanned expenses. That's FOX for ya. And since I also have knocked this network when I felt they deserved it...you are complaining to someone that agrees with you.
But nice chatting with you again Pete ;-)
I thought your comments about Doocey were pretty much on target.
I liked vapid rat droppings too. It sounds about right for these three.
The Three Stooges strike again! Where on earth do these people come from?
My wife was a elementary school teacher for years. Just for yucks we sat down and counted all the time she spent administering and preparing kids for standardized tests. State, federal, and local tests. We counted up 32 instructional days. Almost 15% of her time was wasted on testing. Her time would have been far better spent on teaching!
We need to add a month to the calender just to make up the lost time doing all this crazy testing. We're going to turn out kids who know how to take a test, but won't be able find the United States on a map.
No wonder Fox Noise doesn't want better education, they won't be able to bamboozle a lot of people in this country anymore
Who needs to look into the camera when discussing these things?
Good Morning America, Today, The Early Show...they all look at each other and speak from their mind when conversing and discussing these topics. Carlson, Doocey...the other guy--they all have to stare in the camera to read their lines.
Gee, and Obama was criticized for telepromptering?
And as far as the "later hours of the day" thing? Japan already has their students getting home in the evenings after their school club activities. They have the US BEAT to death in total hours at school.
I could not pass up this embarrassing segment. (give me a minute...or two...make it five) With my elbow on an arm-rail of my chair, thumb on my cheekbone, and two fingers on my forehead, cradling my head, the stunning feelings are overwhelming, and indescribable. Enough about me.
Our educational system has a combination of factors, preventing America from being he smartest in the world. Originally, from what I remember, vacation was to help our agrarian culture with harvest time. Since, we have industrialized without adjusting for the reduction of needed labor.
The brain, a muscle, when not exercised will lose tone, much like an athlete taking a long break from training. In the fall semester, children have to redevelop their educational mind-set. Year round school, like other countries, would hold focus,(tone), at a ready level. The economy would benefit from steady business vs. shock shopping that has a start-stop affect. The boom-bust interim will be held to a minimum, prompting a smoother business flow. Promoting economic viscosity will contribute positively to our GNP,(gross national product).
Mr. Doocy does not quote his statistical sources. Who are they? We are playing catchup, by not having our students maintain academic health. Pres. Obama has a good idea, basically. The fact remains: reenforcement of academic standards will produce higher test scores, if studies are metered throughout the year, that include small breaks and holidays.
Ms. Carlson, in spite of her saying, "...I think poorer kids would do well, to go to school throughout the year...," implies those thieving minorities can be watched; year-round would be of great benefit, to minority children. I would like that to happen: talk about the backlash when minorities test higher. If you think racism is subsurface now, wait until minorities become the boss. Ouch!
Mr. Kilmeade insinuates that other countries are giving kids they(sic) answers,(his word not mine). Is keeping them stupid what the Republicans and Democrats agree to? I do not trust what Mr. Kilmeade said, about that. I want to know the name of the independent study.
Pride and ignorance will be the ruin of our sub-educated populace, and render America academically impotent.
Pass it along.
It be it,
Ronin Kannushi.
