No, Lou it's an example of a handful of teachers who are proud that Barack Obama is our first African American President. But let me ask you this, Lou: isn't it appropriate to honor a decent man who overcame the handicaps of his race to become President? I think it's a remarkable American success story.

Well that's it. The next Republican president who has his/her name mentioned in a school we all need to scream indoctrination.

Did Lou and the right forget so quickly about the kids who sang a song about Bush after Katrina?

      “Our country’s stood beside us
      People have sent us aid.
Katrina could not stop us, our hopes will never fade.
      Congress, Bush and FEMA
      People across our land
Together have come to rebuild us and we join them hand-in-hand!”

Of course the irony is bush and fema did no such thing! But I don't recall any liberals getting all bent out of shape like reichwingers do.

Oops, there goes that "If bush had done it y'all would be all angry and stuff!" strawman...

            Reich?

            n.

I know what the word means, but how does it apply to people of a right leaning ideology?

Well, apparently, since the Third Reich was an uber-conservative group of folks, I'm thinking that the comparison, although somewhat offensive in my view, is pretty obvious.

[Yes, yes, I know that they had the word "socialist" in the name of their party, but it did not maintain a socialist ideology. It was VERY conservative as most dictatorships are.]

For an economic system they advocated a system called corporatism. Where business groups combine into one entity. Countries that utilize corporatism often have much state influence on the companies (that doesn't sound like something that a conservative let alone a libertarian like myself would advocate). They regarded capitalism as "Conspiritorial Jewry." Also many of their economic policies involved a tainting of keynesian economic thought, which is also quite leftist (FDR, and most modern American-liberals are keynesians). They also had one of the first modern universal healthcare systems. They also had smoking bans. Both are policies that the left advocate.

Doesn't it make you want to laugh and cry when listening to Dobbs, Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity?
These hobos are hilarious in trying to hide their blatant attempts to screw the Democrats at every turn. Then you want to cry because of the tidal wave of numbskulls that believe everything they say without question.

"Conservatives haven't had a new idea since they began purchasing women rather than clubbing them"....Jackrite

It will all come to a head soon when the President orders Democrats to use their mandate and vote for what they want.
Heads will roll on the con side because they will blame each other for pushing the Dems too far.
I wonder what the Cons will say if Obama declars that he is the "Decider". They would love that wouldn't they?

Hmmm -- I don't recall any charges of "indoctrination" over this.

President George W. Bush recently made a special visit to a school in Nashville, Tennessee. He toured the school and spoke with kids and teachers.

The president told the kids, "I'm excited to be here." The kids were excited, too.

Not only indoctrination, but fawning coverage from the so-called liberal media, too.

          WASHINGTON, D.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 25, 2001

President George W. Bush today visited Merritt Elementary School in Washington, D.C. citing it as an example of how successful education reform can increase student achievement. The school recently experienced a significant increase in student math scores after implementing the Lightspan Achieve Now(TM) program -- developed by San Diego based Lightspan, Inc. (Nasdaq: LSPN).

Not only did Bush engage in indoctrination, but he was shilling like a common TV pitchman...

It's evidence of a school which made a bad choice, in my opinion. It's the parents' responsibility to deal with it or not deal with it, depending on how THEY feel about it.

Has nothing whatsoever to do with Obama.
