Lol! Sure, Beck- you just keep on keepin' on, there, buddy! Sort of off topic, but I saw a new bumper sticker today- "Jan. 13th, 2013, Return to Capitalism!" What a hoot...

Um, no. Unions set a price for what they sell, which is a service. Much like a barber does. It only "redistributes" in the sense that labor prices eat into the profits of the corporate lobbyists known as the Republican party.

<yawn> The old, "how is this not a front page story?" line again.

I'll clue you in, Becky, it's because of your impeccable timeliness...

This 2001 Obama interview clip was already run through the slime machine by the right-wing professional liars last October. They all had their simultaneous orgasm over it, but it appears you misplaced your invitation to the orgy.

It was the last-ditch slime effort by the right-wing professional liars. The voters were sufficiently bombarded with it, and they made their decision only a few days later.

This is at best, a straw man argument, a reductio ad ridiculum. But, really, it reflects Glennie's greed. He is worried that he won't be able to haul in the millions and millions of dollars that he gets for spreading this garbage of his. Glenn has been using his skills to weedle more money from his employers than his peers for over 20 years and he is scared he won't get away with it any longer. But you can't be a multi-millionaire shill for a mult-billion dollar corporation and claim you're just a working schlub forever.

The only evidence he offers is a 2001 interview clip, and he has to completely misconstrue it to support his point.

I'm gathering that what then-Senator Obama was talking about was focusing on influencing the courts to make changes in Civil Rights laws, rather than going to the people involved and growing a grassroots force against oppression. I guess a genuine grassroots organization of Black people was too much for Glennie.

That's exactly right. WEALTH doesn't enter into the enitre discussion. It's absurb, becasue if anything Obama's making a point that most conservtaives would support, at least in their rhetoric: That forcing change through via the courts is not the right way to do it! But when a democrat says the exact same thing, suddenly it's nefarious.

If the best way to criticise someone is to mis-quote them, then they must be perfect. Otherwsie you would point to something legitimate.

The poor don't get the proper Conservative corporate backing, like the Teabaggers, that's what makes it nefarious.

Funny, I thought guys like Beck were always talking about how Unions were destroying our country through gold plated health plans, and wages that were TOO HIGH! Remember last year's epic fake outrage over how union autoworkers were making $150,000/year!!

Poor Becky . . . thinks that SEIU, ACORN, and the unions will "set maximum wages to redistribute wealth" . . .

Someday, someone's gonna have to really sit Glenn down and carefully explain to him how these things work -- it is the GOV'T that sets minimum wages; unions do not set maximum ones.

Just like Obama did not consult with either ACORN or SEIU in deploying additional troops to Afghanistan -- as Commander-in-Chief, Obama need only consult with his commanders, the JCS, and Congress, not a service employees union or a political committee . . .
