Sadly, I've heard people who I graduated high school with eight years ago using this logic. "*small town*, Wisconsin has been unseasonably cool this summer! So much for global warming, lol!"

Good gods. I thought this was basic science. I guess I was wrong.

Me thinks he may wish to reread his bible. Who made the world again?

Bty, just watching Chris Matthews. Is he getting a little more strange by the day?

Oh, God...here we go again with local weather patterns proving the earth is cooling instead of warming.

It's a meaningless game to play, but what the hell.
So, NYC had a crappy summer, Becky. You New York media types are all alike--thinking it's all about you.
See, where I live in the Pacific Northwest, this summer has been one for the record books... record-breaking heatwaves, twice as much sun as usual and half the usual rainfall. Didn't feel like cooling here. How does that fit with your contention?

Glenn, I know people who suffer from ADHD have a hard time understanding things and have to be reminded over and over again, global warming is not what you read on a thermometer, it is a weather change pattern. Cut and paste this post to your scrolling marquee on you screen saver, please.

Southern California is in a 2nd week of record breaking heat and huge brush fires. Guess that throws ole Becky's theory out the window.

And what's with this guys excessive animation with the hand gestures and facial expressions. He looks and acts like he's talking to a 2nd grade elementary class! Well, maybe he is talking to those that are mentally 2nd graders in adult bodies.

Even the best of comedy writers could not caricature Glenn Beck. Glenn Beck is a living, breathing caricature. But you know what would be really cool? If Glenn Beck dressed up in a clown costume every day on his show...with a big red nose. Are you listening, Glenn? ;>)

This right wing meme is insanity.

Because its cold one summer in one part of the world, that disproves climate change... (its not really global warming thats an incorrect term, the planet is warming but some places on earth will get colder as a result, hard for the right wing caveman brain to handle, I know)

The cold summer in NYC actually is evidence of global climate change Glenn.. sorry that your insanity cant let you see the facts.

So there was a cooler than normal speck on the planet earth so that proves there is no global warming? Duh,.....OK! Makes sense to me.

Well, some things you can believe. Somethings are beyond belief.

But, when it comes to science, it either is, or is not.

The evidence either supports the theory, or it doesn't.

Belief by itself has nothing to do with it.

You can't take a poll & vote on scientific evidence. It is what it is.

That being said, here are some links to solid sources noting that the scientific community agrees that humans play a role in global warming.

      http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686

      http://www.ucsusa.org/ssi/climate-change/scientific-consensus-on.html

PS - Same argument goes for evolution.
As I tell anyone who wants to buck the scientific community, be my guest. Write a peer-reviewed paper & publish it. Who knows, perhaps you'll get the Nobel Prize.

Wow Becky Boy, how radical, the idea that we have some appreciation for the planet which sustains our existence. That concept isn't exactly new, in fact, that basic concept is heavily embedded in Judaism, which btw, is the basis for Christianity.

That's Beck he's a genius! There's not a single topic in the world that he is not an expert on. I guess we don't need to worry anymore cause he disagrees with the scientists because he studies climate change for a living 40 hours a week as he makes time to fill his listeners with his propaganda, right?

Same old. Same old. Reminder though. Both sides are absolute sensationalists. Problem is the consumption of Kook Aid by the AGW crowd is much more dramatic than that by the other side. Why else would Washington think America was ready to swallow the abomination that is cap and trade?

So while Beck idiotically cherry picks a season, I had to hear hundreds of times over the last decade that "1998 was the hottest year on record" and "the planet has a fever." Disregard the fact that that was an El NiƱo year. Just present it as though that is bellwether evidence of global warming.

Some day all sides will come to their senses, dissect the "consensus", and address the real environmental issues that can actually be directly impacted almost immediately. I guess in many of your eyes that kind of thinking makes me a "flat-earther", "2nd grader", "ADHD sufferer" and so on. My moniker for you then, hopefully in the near future, will be "crow eater". It is hard to escape when it is the mind that is hostage. Best of luck shaking the Stockholm syndrome.
