The statement is Ms. Odonnell's personal opinion. Bill Clinton stated President Obama's run for the presidency was a "fairy tale", yet he won. Try to recall the many obstacles the President has faced from the beginning of his run to present; he has overcome them all. There is room for faith that he will overcome the healthcare battle also. My personal opinion is the dream will never die; therefore my position is to fight the good fight.

If she means going by the cold hard mathematics, she could be close to the truth.

But I'm willing to bet there will be plenty of good will from Senator Kennedy's colleagues that could persuade some to support the policies that he championed throughout his career.

They will pass healthcare legislation Ms. O'Donnell and it will have a public option and they will do so in part because of Ted Kennedy's hard work and dedication. They will pass it and President Obama will sign it into law and dedicate it to Senator Kennedy.

Please Norah, what you just said will "NOT" be true. The HealthCare Reform Bill will pass now just to "honor" Senator Kennedy's life on the Hill by Democrats and Republicans. And don't be surprised if Public Option became Kennedy's Public Option now. LOL

If anything, those people who were sitting on the fence waiting for their "true" cause to support the HealthCare Reform Bill will be out front and centered now fighting hard to get it passed. The 'Lion of the Senate' will get the HealthCare Reform Bill including the Kennedy Public Option passed "overwhelmingly" with alot of Republicans on board - period.

P.S. Rest in peace Senator Edward Kennedy, and thanks for ALL you did for our great America and the American citizens as a whole.

And now they celebrated the death of one of America's favorite family's family member's as a strong hold on the Obama agenda. Tell you what, let's see if it does!

      Let's GO!

Earlier Nora had asserted that Ted Kennedy would have been able to go to the "liberals" and get THEM to accept 80% of healthcare reform , you know drop the public option. It immediately brought to mind something I read recently by Glenn Greenwald :

The Beltway consensus: the Left is to blame for health care battle
      (update below)

The prevailing Beltway wisdom has now ossified that the problem with the health care debate is that those hardened Leftist ideologues cling childishly and petulantly to their little "public option" fetish and their refusal to give it up is jeopardizing enactment of a reform bill. Just see The Washington Post Editorial Page, Post columnist Steve Pearlstein and Joe Klein -- and especially the below-documented behavior from Newsweek's Jonathan Alter -- this week blaming The Left, as always, for their childish extremism in the health care debate. As always, the obedient servitude of Blue Dogs and "centrists" to the industries that own Congress aren't obstructionist at all. Somehow, the refusal of Blue Dogs to vote for a plan with a "public option" isn't impeding anything; there's no reason they should give anything up, because they're just being moderate and "centrist." As always, the way things should be done in Washington is that the proper scorn should be heaped on The Left until they're bullied into giving up what they believe so that Things Can Get Done (i.e., so that corporate dictates can be fulfilled).
