What's more, a whopping 67 percent of Americans believe that -- when "actual details" are reported as "nuance" -- we're all royally %$#@&*!.

Americans who are informed about the facts of the health coverage reform legislation are in favor of it? I guess the conservatives kind of saw that one coming, based on, what is it now? Four months of propaganda about socialism and death panels and rationing and all the other lies they are telling?

I guess if you were trying to defeat a public option, your best bet is just to be as untruthful and divisive as you can, and hunker down and wait for the storm to blow over. Didn't work in '60s for Medicare, and I have a funny feeling it's not going to work this time. Speaking of which, I'm going to go call my representatives and tell them that I WANT a public option.

...conservatives kind of saw that one coming.... so true 'cause look at how Rush stated he got the 'death panel' quotes from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. And Keith had to remind Rush that he did NOT. Uh, oh. LOL

Now you know why republicans lie so much. Why they can only win an argument if they distort your position. Or misquote you. This is proof positive, once again, that they will never win on the issue if the public is educated and well-informed. They can only win when their propaganda dominates the discussion. (And yet they STILL lost!)

Thanks Media Matters. Now let's see if Republicans will stop spreading their false mis-information about the HealthCare Reform Bill. LOL

And the remaining 4% wouldn't remove their fingers from their ears to hear the question.

Umm someone want to tell me what Obama’s plan is. He hasn’t declared support for any of the plans so far. So how the hell did NBC give details of a plan that does not exist?

I actually have to call bullsh!t here. "After being read a statement containing actual details of the Obama plan?" What does that mean? First of all the President doesn't write legislation so where exactly are these details coming from? And how much detail can they actually go into in a statement short emough to read as part of a survey? I'd have to hear the statement myself but I suspect that it was slanted in favor of the plan. Don't get me wrong. I fully support a public option and I think reform will be meaningless without it but this survey appears to be as flawed as those the right present to support their position.

When people are told that there are no "death panels," and that they can keep their plan or use the public option, when they are told that no one is trying to kill off Grandma, they're more in favor than when the GOP scream their lies.

I'll bet those are the details they are given. They're parts of a plan that Obama has endorsed, even though no such bill exists yet.

Maybe. If that was the case though wouldn't it have been clearer just to say "When told that death panels & euthanasia were not part of the plan 53% were in favor of it?" I can't say one way or another if the poll is flawed without knowing what the statement was but on the surface it appears flawed. As I said I support a public option but I don't want to see our side falling into the same sort of bs games the right has been playing.

You know I will say this and see if people favor this proposal. These looney tune protesters complaining that they want the government out of people's lives because of socialism. Okay then take away financial aid like grants and loans for cars, homes, and school. Also medicare and medicaid. Link cards for food and any other rights people get to have thanks to the federal government's interaction to make people lives more easier. Just take it away! Now lets see how the polls will look then! Believe this though what the states gets in aid it comes from the govenment so it is SOCIALISM! Duh!!! Spreading the wealth......

I wonder how many networks will report this story on the evening newscast tonight?

If this story gets the same coverage that the mobs at the town halls have gotten I would be amazed.

Obama is busting his ass trying to straighten out the mess that Bush left and the media doesn't help by leaving out important polls such as this.
