MSNBC should change their motto to "The Place for Politics and more"

Hardball is such and ironic title for this show most of the time.

I was never impressed with "Your Place for Politics". I am more interested in "journalistic integrity". Then again, they probably couldn't say that without breaking into laughter.

I wish the media would stop covering MJ, sure he is iconic but leave his children and all his financial trouble out of the public. It's his and his family's personal business...all of a sudden now, MJs last moments have become news.

As far as I'm concerned, Michael Jackson is tabloid news. Why any network is covering the ongoing "MJ iz ded" drama is beyond me, especially with stuff like the Mark Sanford debacle and, more importantly, the health care debate.

      Oh, yeah. Ratings. My bad.

You're right but unfortunately it is the public who drive the news. Wouldn't you say, however, that the Sanford saga falls into the same category as the Jackson saga? If Gov. Sanford were derelect in his role as Governor then the news cycle is justified. If not, then it is tabloid fodder and once again it is the insatiable appetite of the public for this type of "news" that brings it into our living rooms.

Sanford left his state for several days without telling anyone where he was going or leaving any way of contacting him in the event of an emergency. I'd say he was indeed derelict in his duty.

I couldn't agree more. He died too young, & I'll give him credit for some great music but a legend? Oh please. The guy has been a washed up has been freak show for at least the past 15 years. And while there may be some questions surrounding his untimely death, this drama doesn't belong on political programming...nor non-stop on tv period.

I may be a living legend, but that sure don’t help when I’ve got to change a flat tire.”

      That is so unbelievably sad.

And I used to respect Chuck Todd before he got to NBC News.

      Bizarre.

Watch the clip for it's inclusion of the opening montage of 'Hardball'... against a soundtrack of running-down-the-corridor news report urgency, it's a series of graphics that include Mount Rushmore, a bust of Thomas Jefferson, the Lincoln Memorial, American Flags and American Eagles, and the White House, and then Chris Matthews working tirelessly at his desk, to report on all of these things American, report them to the American People...

And then there's this todd character standing in front of the White House, to give you the latest 'inquiring mind stuff' about the dead Michael Jackson.

If the bust of Thomas Jefferson and the statue of President Lincoln and the stone heads on Mount Rushmore, if they could all speak, they'd probably ask "what did you show pictures of us for, if it's Michael Jackson you're reporting on?"

      Bizarre.

Yes, but he'll never be dead for as long a time as Francisco Franco will be.
