Uhhh, Mike...Al Franken is actually a pretty smart guy. That stuff you saw him do on Saturday Night Live, that's called ACTING.

Between Franken and Coleman, FRANKEN is the one who has acted like an adult and a statesman throughout this whole ordeal. Coleman is the one who's been grasping at straws, making all kinds of ridiculous public pronouncements, and taking it WAAAAAY further than it should have gone.

Basically, Franken watched and waited while Coleman rearranged the proverbial deck chairs.

I'm kinda surprised that you Mr. Barnicle are being treated as if you were worthy of being given the time to speak on any issue, period!

I would be real surprised if he came up with his own thoughts. He has probably plagarized those as well.

I take that statement as an insult. I firmly believe that most people that get elected to office are awed by the event and rise to the occasion. that simple. But then again, there is Michele bachmann ( US Representative ) Barnicle lost his creds with me judging others, a long time ago, when he criticised pres Obama's stymulus package without revealing his wife, pres of a bank, received such moneys thereby skewing his opinion. I expect more from those who do more than I.

Barney-cle, Franken graduated with a Political Science BA from Harvard, with honors.

You haven't yet graduated from juvenile insults. You wouldn't know what a responsible adult would look like if one sat by you and acted responsible.

Please. Go back to that confrontation he had with BillO on C-SPAN all those years ago and tell me which of those 2 acted like a responsible adult.

For those of us who grew up in the Boston area, this is typical Barnicle. He's not only a plagiarizer, but he also wrote columns where he invented characters, a la James Frey. The guy sees himself as a Studs Terkel/Jimmy Breslin type, but in reality, he has no connection to the "average guy".
Of course, he's perfectly at home in the MSM. As Anne Richards (I believe) said of W, "all hat and no cattle."

You know, with all the talk about how 'reasonable' Al Franken has been, I'm beginning to suspect that some of the media dolts who have been speaking about Minnesota's newest senator are getting him confused with Lewis Black...

I hope the GOP continues to underestimate Franken. What most people don't seem to know is that Franken graduated from Harvard University, reportedly has a high IQ and is known to be somewhat of a math whiz. That alone does not guarantee success but he probably has a LOT more potential than a lot of those other clowns in the Senate!
