The UK ran a similar study that, according to him, lead to the rationing of patient care with certain cancer treatments, in the UK, where they already have a single payer system (along with a private system for those who can afford it)
Because of that, his conclusion is that President Obama wants a govt. sponsored health care.
What I think these guys are all confused. It's not President Obama that wants a single payer system, it's the American People that want it! Eventually, someone is going to have to listen.
Single-payer health care will eventually make it to America. It's an inevitability. The reason is that the profit motive creates way too many injustices in the current system. If your local vendor raises the price of a television, you can then decide whether you need a new one or can make due with your current one. If your health care provider raises the price of chemo, you can't make that choice. The illegal drug business works in a similar way once they have people hooked.
Face it cons, unless you start a real revolution you will lose this battle and likely every other battle in the long-term. It sucks to be you.
This individual "Josh," who I'm not familiar with, seems to have a firm grasp of the issue. He was able to hold a coherent interview and actually help the American people understand something about the healthcare debate.
I have a feeling if Josh keeps this up, his career on corporate news will be short lived.
Makes Bernie Madoff look like a choirboy. These conservative million- and billionaires are going to fight tooth and nail to keep their racket intact.
Rick Scott also has the invisible tin foil hat on his bald dome when he said he believes Obama wants govt. run health care when Obama has never said that.
Someone needs to find out who writes the checks to this hack. And the CNN guy was great.
He did miss a couple of things:
1.) he should have mentioned that his group is definitely partisan (they have "Conservative" in their name.) and
2.) private insurances companies do a lot of "effectiveness research." Why doesn't he or his group criticize insurance companies?
One of the things I've done is to look around in the patient room to notice which drug company's logo are on the calendar, or the human chart, or the cotton swabs, etc. etc. to know ahead of time in which medicines the good ole' doctor would be pushing on me. There have been times when I have refused those companies the good ole' doctor wanted, and got what I knew worked for me. But hey, maybe the Conservatives/Republicans don't know about these drug companies involvement yet. Great comment though.
Just like the profiteering dollars to the CEO's of the health care industry never make it to the actual patient care.
If CNN won't give it... perhaps he can eventually mosey on over to MSNBC?
Well except the private insurance company that has a fiduciary responsibility to make as much money for their stockholders.
