The "vehement language" of limbaugh and gingrich could create a rift between the Republican Party and Hispanics?

      Gee, you really think so?

      How about this...

The things being said presently by limbaugh and gingrich could create a rift between the Republican Party and the American People!

Oh wait, such a rift already exists, witness the expulsion of Republicans from Congress in 2006 and 2008, and from the administration of our Federal Government in 2008...

As a matter of fact, you might say that the words of limbaugh and gingrich have contributed to the rift already between the Republican Party and the American People (evidenced by the 2006 and 2008 national elections), and their words are today just making that rift wider and greater, and even more "vehement".

Here's the latest from the gallup poll:

More than 6 in 10 Republicans today are white conservatives, while most of the rest are whites with other ideological leanings; only 11% of Republicans are Hispanics, or are blacks or members of other races.

        To DemO2020:
What so many of us fail to see is that the Republican Party has been on a campaign to reduce the country to a one party system. Their current agenda is transparent for all to see. We can complain and voice our disgust in every post, every blog, every letter to the editor; the truth is THEY JUST DON'T CARE! They are not at all interested in being the party for all Americans, just those Americans that agree with THEM. The rest of us can just go to HELL. The Republican Party, as it now stands, is being run by people who are not even elected to office. Where are those good Republicans (I must believe they are out there) to say to Limpburger and Humpty Dumpty Rove and Chainsaw Cheney. "Hey, guys, you don't speak for me! You are not representative of the GOP I am proud of." Where is that Republican who has the guts to say, "Limbaugh, SHUT the F*** UP!", and not then apologize and grovel at his feet? THEY JUST DON'T C A R E!!!!

That's not true, maddog. Republicans absolutely believe in a two party system. The problem is their two party system is the masters and the slaves...

The guy that gets credit for being one of their smartest (Gingrich) is the one who thought the way to run the government was to shut it down when he couldn't get his way. It is beyond bizzare that he gets any attention from media outlets.

Limbaugh and Gingrich, et al are the flesh eating bacteria releasing toxins onto the GOP body politic and causing the desruction of the skin and muscles. Too bad, so sad really ;-)

No, Brother Sanchez, there's no "could" to it, the Republicans can kiss the Hispanic vote goodbye for the next ten to twenty years. My Hispanic friends I go to college with told me that their parents followed this very closely in the news and they definitely aren't voting Republican in the future after the wingnuts showed their ass regarding the Sotomayor appointment (and these are social conservative working class folk I'm speaking of, too, much like the black vote).

That's what happens when you make the likes of Limbaugh and Gingrich "leaders" of your party.

Is anyone that surprised to find that the anti-illegal immigration is really anti Hispaninc?

I'm a white male, Preston, but I'm also a Liberal Democrat and have numerous friends from all ethnicities. Every single one of my friends who are Hispanic have told me exactly the same thing over the past few days. They have said their parents and Hispanic friends, many of whom are not all that Liberal, and in many cases are VERY, VERY conservative, have all said that they will NEVER again in their lifetime vote for a Repuglican.

This is why I've said in some comments that while we certainly should find the stuff that's being said by Racist, Right-Wing, Neo-Fascist idiots like Pat Buchanan, Tom Tancredo, Sean Insanity, Bill O'Lielly, Rush Limpballs and others extremely offensive, we should also thank our lucky stars they've decided to do what they're doing. For they are only hastening the demise of the Repuglican Party.

Not only will this drive Hispanic and other minority voters from the Repuglican Party in huge numbers, it is going to drive millions of moderate whites away as well. I fully predict that the Repuglican Party, BECAUSE OF THE ATTACKS ON SOTOMAYOR, will be lucky to get 5% of the minority vote in any election in this country, and will almost certainly lost about 5% or more of the moderate white vote over it. This will assure them of losing numerous races.

Also, I predict and fully believe that by 2020 the Repuglican Party will go the way of the Whig Party and will be so insignificant they'll be lucky to even be called a third party.

So, even though I'm an agnostic, I say Hallelujah to all this. Thank God these racist fools are doing what they're doing.

Yep, we can pick up seats in the mid terms if the leaders of the republican party (Newty and Limbaugh) keep this stuff up.

As we talked about before, they're not even bothering with the black vote anymore. Sure, they put Steele in there, but he's like a bad caricature of a leader. He's dragging the party down even more. Leave him there I say.

Limbaugh. Steele. Newt. And Palin. There are your republican leaders. GOP is in bigger trouble than I thought.
