The Social Security Trust Fund is bankrupt?

About the only way that could've happened would have been to allow George W. Bush and Congressional Republicans to expose it to Wall Street, which is what they wanted to do two years ago if you recall.

Imagine if they had gotten their way, and embezzled all that money... of course, as it turned out, they refused to be denied in their thefts, and were able to steal a trillion or so dollars from Wall Street funds anyway... but as best as I can tell, they didn't get a penny of it from the Social Security Trust Fund, thank goodness...

But they stole all that money just the same: it was as if when we rebuffed them on the SS Funds, they just said "FU American People, there's more than one way to get that money, there's more than one way to skin a Wall Street cat!"

And there was, and they did.
