Fox News owns this sign

November 05, 2009 2:41 pm ET by Matt Gertz

Center for American Progress' Matthew Yglesias brings us these images, originally taken by his colleague Lee Fang at this afternoon's anti-health care rally on Capitol Hill:

dachau1

dachau2

That's the caption "National Socialist Health Care, Dachau, Germany - 1945" over the piled corpses of Holocaust victims.

Fox News figures have spent the last few days aggressively promoting this rally. One of their hosts, Glenn Beck, has spent the last six months joining other media conservatives in comparing every aspect of President Obama's program -- including his health reform plan -- to that of the Nazis.

Fox News owns this sign.

I think the majority of Americans will also be disgusted. I'm hoping that the idiots have finally ripped their britches on this one. This is beyond disgusting.

Andrea Mitchell called Rep Eric Cantor to task for some other offensive signs just an hour ago. He blew her off with a false equivalency argument that both sides do it. Her comeback? That maybe if we didn't have such toxic attitudes by people like these sign holders, maybe we'd get more done!

One of the signs said "No Socialist Healthcare". But remember the "we have the best medical care in the world" nonsense the right has been pumping out? The only group that has the best medical care? Those covered by 'socalist' healthcare - Medicare. It covers everyone, for anything, and we all pay for it.

These protestors don't have a freakin' clue.

Medicare has a claim rejection twice that of the private health care industry average, >6%. That's an AMA finding. Go Google it.

          So what?

          I mean really, so what?

It doesn't change the fact that the people in the USA with the best health outcomes relative to other countries (which is what I was talking about, remember) are those people in the USA on Medicare.

Moreover, there is one American health statistic that is strikingly above average: life expectancy for Americans who have already reached the age of 65. At that point, they can expect to live longer than the average in industrialized countries. That’s because Americans above age 65 actually have universal health care coverage: Medicare.

My dad just spent four months in the hospital/rehab facilities. Medicare paid for EVERYTHING, no claims denied. Without Medicare, my parents would have been bankrupted.

If JohnH means this little nugget, than some big questions that need to be asked is what are reasons other than a claim edit?

It looks scary...but I am sure that there is more to the story than meets the eye.

I suspect it's because Medicare has agreements with doctors and hospitals that some things they bill customers and private insurance companies for, Medicare won't pay for. So, despite the fact that they 'deny' the claim, it doesn't mean a whole lot.

That is beyond disgusting..... What do these people think? Do they think? I bet no msm (including Faux News) will report on this kind of hate and ignorance!

Fox doesn't understand that the "National Socialists" and the "Socialists" are two entirely different things.

Worse than actually embracing this sign, Fox News would probably proudly declare they own it.

I'll bet they don't see anything wrong with it.

I'm surprised that M. Rotten Levin hasn't said anything about that sign. After all, he's there and he's Jewish, and any Jewish person should find that sign to be highly offensive.....

"National Socialist Health Care, Dachau, Germany - 1945"

These misinformed people have no type of IQ or even know the word SOCIALIST!

      Truly sick!

The huffington post has more pictures. Go look there!

So sad, these people are being led around with misinformation and fearmongering. They don't see it at all, how they are being used for politician's and pundit's own agendas. I don't know if it is really their IQ or just fear and intolerance.

Weren't the only people arrested at this rally supporters of the Dems Health Care reform bill, protesting in Joe Leibermans office?
I'll bet there were 2-3 people there for each page of this Bill, protesting against it. And, funny, none of them needed to be arrested.
Those of you commenting about how disgusted you are, none of you has ever referred to Rush Limbaugh as Fat, correct? Never called Glenn Beck an idiot? Verbally or in writing expressed interest in having some illness or disaster befall any conservative? Have a disparaging name for anyone who happens to disagree with you? Including me (whom you have never met and know nothing about? I can't wait to see some of the names I'm called just for posting this. ;) )
You will get no argument from me that the holocaust sign is disgusting and repulsive. On that we are in complete agreement. But, can I see evidence that the sign is owned by Fox News? I get the connection to Beck comparing some administration policies to policies of the Nazi Party. If you study those comparisons and don't make the giant, illogical leap to genocide and invading Poland, there are significant similarities. Can you just look intellectually at the real point for a change?

Let's see. Calling Limbaugh fat vs using stacks of dead bodies to protest health care reform. Yep, that's a fair comparison...

Pray expose us to those administration policies which remind you so much of the Nazi party.
You going to have to do some work to deserve any effort to insult you.
